Well, I have officially been tagged.....(It's my first time!) by Wendy at Happily Home. Wendy, I am becoming more and more convinced that I need to have coffee with you about once a month. Your love for books and ability to dive into deep, ponderous thoughts while juggling babies and bunnies is calling to me.
I shared with my son that I need to blog six weird things about myself. His response was, "HA! That will be easy!" I'm not sure that I share his level of confidence, but I'll try.
1. I love the muppets. The OLD muppets. I own a Time Life set of muppet episodes. I have muppets glasses. My avatar on some message boards is the Swedish chef. And my favorite muppets is Gonzo who has been quoted as saying, "Weird is fun." I rest my case.
2. I often act like an imbecile to make my family laugh. My children have become immune to it, but it doesn't stop me. I have been known to dance around in exaggerated swing/Charleston style to Gershwin songs. I have also been known to repeat phrases to myself, talk to myself, make faces to myself, and walk in circles. Until I notice my husband looking at me with a confused and perplexed look on his face. "What?"
3. I gave birth to my son when I had just turned 16. Now, I don't actually think that is weird. BUT.....when I tell people that I'm 29, then they later ask how old my children are (13 and 6), I truly enjoy watching the facial process that the person goes through as they try to do the math to figure out when I had the 13 yr old! Puzzlement to realization to horror to trying to cover the horror face to sympathy to "Wow." It's fun to watch. And it doesn't bother me a bit. And it's a little weird that I enjoy seeing that.
4. I eat candy (not much anymore) VERY slowly and calculating. I can make a cheeto last for 5 minutes. For example: Little Debbie Nutty Bars. I freeze them. Then I break one bar in half. I separate the first layer and slowly lick the peanut butter off. Then I crunch the wafer. Repeat with the next layer. Reeses Fast Break Bars. I basically eat each section separately. I roll the chocolate off the top and sides then slowly eat it. Then I eat the middle peanut butter part. You get the idea. One more: See's Candies Key Lime Truffles. I actually take a knife and slice little tiny slices from the truffle. I pop each little piece into my mouth and let it melt there for a few minutes. Takes a good 30 minutes to eat one truffle. Mmmmmmm.............
5. I have become interested in the "isms" of history. I have this strange desire to study Karl Marx, Hitler, Stalin, and a few others having to do with Marxism, Fascism, Socialism, and Communism. I really don't know enough to even spell this stuff correctly, but I really am interested in it and working on milking hubby for information because he just seems to know everything. And when I told him about this interest he gave me that look and said, "Why?" So I figure it's a little weird.
6. I have an unhealthy interest in Johnny Depp. Did even before POTC. Really unhealthy. That's all I have to say about that. Except I've been told that's pretty weird.
Now, I don't really know what to do. I have to tag someone......but I never have before. And I don't know that many people online. Hmmmm........
to keep it in Maine I'll have to go with Quiverof10. I know lot's of wonderful things about her but I don't think I know anything weird. :)
And then there's Ree.....but all she blogs about are her weird antics. So I'm not going to tag her but I HIGHLY recommend you go and spend an hour on her blog. Make sure you check out her audio clips. Turn the volume up high. And you might want to put aside that snack before going over there. You never know.
Oh, I just don't know anyone else online well enough. I guess you'll have to make do with the one tag and I'll have to make do with being an internet loner. (Well, I do have to homeschool at some point, right?)

Yeah, but that's because your Wendy and I'm me. So, to us this stuff is common place. Arn't we so much more interesting than the common folk? Or is it just that we arn't afraid of it?
